In jedem menschlichen Wesen steckt eine Fragilität, jeder Moment beinhaltet das Risiko des Kollabierens. In FRAGILAND kreisen vier ChoreografInnen und TänzerInnen aus vier unterschiedlichen ländern um das Thema der Zerbrechlichkeit, um den Moment, an dem alles droht in sich zusammenzufallen. Sie untersuchen dabei ihren ganz eigenen, persönlichen Punkt, an dem sie (fast) zerbrechen. Während ihrer Residenz in Dresden erarbeiteten sie gemeinsam die Tanzperformance. Sehnsüchte, Klischees und (unterschiedliche) Realitäten waren Ausgangspunkt ihrer Recherche. Herausgekommen ist eine tänzerische Suche nach Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschieden.
FRAGILAND focuses on an understanding of the fragility inherent in all living creatures. The performers assert their individual point of views in an effort to avoid the ever-present risk of collapse. In their combined effort to open up to one another, they ask themselves whether or not they are in danger of disappearing, dissolving – islands becoming inundated. In FRAGILAND, four choreographers from four different countries explore themes of fragility, racial stress, desire, and cliché.
FRAGILAND was created in a unique artistic encouter in the frame of „Shifting realities“ – a choreographic exchange between african and european artists, designed by tanzhaus NRW, HELLERAU – European Centre for the Arts and École des Sables, Sénégal.
