Jeder Mensch erlebt Zeit immer wieder anders. Man könnte sagen, wir tragen verschiedene Zeitlichkeiten in uns. Wann habe ich Zeit? Kann man Zeit überhaupt besitzen? Und wann steht Zeit still? Wer entscheidet über meine Zeit? Darf ich meine Zeit verschwenden?
EXPERIENCING TIME ist ein sich permanent wandelnder Erlebnisraum in Garten und Saal der Villa Wigman. Im Zentrum steht die Frage nach dem individuellen Empfinden von Zeit. Das Zusammenspiel von Tanz, live-Hörspiel und Videokunst führt in eine Kontrasterfahrung zum normalisierten Zeitverständnis: Zeiten im Dazwischen, Beschleunigung und Formen des Stillstands. Neben der Suche nach dem größtmöglichen Maß an Effizienz konfrontiert uns das Nachdenken über Zeit mit der eigenen Vergänglichkeit.
“Im Garten und Saal der VILLA WIGMAN ist als Uraufführung “Experiencing Time” zu erleben, eine Arbeit von Barbara Lubich und Anna Till. Da wandelt das Publikum zwar nicht ständig hin und her, sind Innen- wie Außenraum weitaus beengter. Aber den steten Wechsel gibt es ebenso. Beim Sehen, Hören, zwischen Außen und Innen. In der Wahrnehmung von Zeit und Veränderung, auch in der Körpersprache des bewegten Trios, in Wiederholungen, der immer wieder einbezogenen Symbolik von Schiffstauen, was auch auf die entsprechende Recherche verweist.
Da lohnt es einmal mehr, diese konzentrierte Aufführung gleich noch ein weiteres Mal zu erleben, von einem anderen Blickpunkt aus, mit der Erfahrung des bereits Gesehenen. Denn was zuvor vielleicht noch als beliebig erschien oder als eine nicht zu entschlüsselnde Metapher, zeigt sich nun überraschend klar strukturiert und dennoch in geheimnisvoller Erzählweise.”

Every person experiences time differently again and again. You could say that we carry different temporalities within us. When do I have time? Can one possess time at all? And when does time stand still? Who decides about my time? Am I allowed to waste my time?
EXPERIENCING TIME is a permanently changing space of experience in the garden and hall of the Villa Wigman. The focus point is the question of the individual perception of time. The interplay of dance, live radio play and video art leads into a contrasting experience to the normalized understanding of time: times in the in-between, acceleration and forms of standstill. In addition to the search for the greatest possible degree of efficiency, thinking about time confronts us with our own transience.
„Experiencing Time, a work by Barbara Lubich and Anna Till, can be experienced as a world premiere in the garden and hall of VILLA WIGMAN. There, the audience does not constantly move back and forth, and the interior and exterior spaces are much more confined. But the constant change is there as well. In seeing, in hearing, between outside and inside. In the perception of time and change, also in the body language of the moving trio, in repetitions, the repeatedly included symbolism of ship stowages, which also refers to the corresponding research.
Once again, it is worthwhile to experience this concentrated performance another time, from a different point of view, with the experience of what has already been seen. For what might have seemed arbitrary or an indecipherable metaphor before, now reveals itself surprisingly clearly structured and yet with a mysterious narrative.“
